Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist Engineer to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized clinical technical services for preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, inspection, and repair to a wide range of complex and patient-connected medical equipment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized clinical technical services for preventative maintenance, servicing, calibration, inspection, and repair to a wide range of complex and patient-connected medical equipment.
  • Communicate with clinical users to gain a clear understanding of the nature of problems with equipment and assess the seriousness and implications of the problem.
  • Undertake advanced fault-finding and apply suitable fault-finding techniques to diagnose problems, including those beyond the scope of manufacturer supplied information.
  • Rectify complex equipment faults and undertake repairs on complex electrical/electronic and mechanical devices to circuit component level if necessary.
Requirements
  • Technical and clinical knowledge
  • Academic qualifications or equivalent level of knowledge
  • Previous clinical engineering experience
  • Specialist knowledge - Anaesthesia
  • Specialist knowledge - Patient Monitoring connectivity
