Job Duties

Our facility is designed to provide specialized post-acute rehabilitation and management of long-term neurological conditions for adults. We emphasize personalized rehabilitation through a gradual approach, ensuring that each resident's unique needs are met with tailored programs that align with their current capabilities.

Our center features a fully equipped therapy area, including a therapy kitchen and gym, offering a wide range of resources to facilitate recovery. Communal living spaces are designed to promote social engagement, and our location provides convenient access to local amenities and transport options.

Work Schedule

This position entails a commitment of 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with specific days and times to be determined. We value work-life balance and encourage open discussions regarding flexibility to accommodate personal or professional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and protection of individuals' rights
  • Assess and manage communication and swallowing challenges
  • Develop evidence-based therapy programs at a specialist level, emphasizing multidisciplinary collaboration for optimal patient outcomes
  • Engage in service delivery audits and quality enhancement initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
  • Participate in internal training sessions, including induction and mandatory training
  • Enhance your skills in clinical supervision and informal mentoring of therapy assistants and students
  • Undertake designated therapist responsibilities to ensure cohesive goal setting and therapy coordination
  • Maintain high standards of clinical care in accordance with national excellence guidelines

Qualifications Required

Essential

  • Registration with HCPC
  • Specialist dysphagia competency as per RCSLT framework

Experience Required

Essential

  • Experience in this specialized clinical area, with evidence of postgraduate training in working with individuals with acquired neurological impairments
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and creativity
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering effective workplace relationships
