The Opportunity
We are launching a new Digital Legal Delivery practice group, which brings together our legacy ALT practice, Legal Operations Advisory, and Emerging Technology Group. This group enables us to offer clients a comprehensive range of digital legal solutions, enhancing efficiency, quality, and competitiveness in the complex legal market. We are seeking a talented Business Development Executive to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop business development skills while working with lawyers, legal project managers, process design, and technology experts across our Digital group.
- Support teams in London, Belfast, New York, and Johannesburg, and collaborate with colleagues across Australia and Asia to present a global offering to the market.
- Work with the Business Development Manager and practice group stakeholders to develop initiatives aligned with our business plan and key client/product/sector objectives.
- Take ownership of delivering small to medium-sized projects under the oversight of the Business Development Manager.
- Support teams with internal and external business development and marketing requirements.
- Identify best strategies for engaging with target clients via meetings, conferences, events, podcasts, webinars, and other channels.
- Support the Digital Business Development Manager, Marketing, and Communication teams in delivering regional Digital business development, communications, and marketing projects and initiatives.
- Develop new initiatives that align with our business plan.
- Identify opportunities to increase the internal profile, awareness, and understanding of the Digital group.
- Take content management responsibility for the Digital Business Development hub on the intranet and the practice group pages on the website.
- Assist the Digital Business Development Manager, Directors, Head of, and Senior Managers in preparing business development materials, including tenders, pitches, and bids.
- Work with stakeholders to draft and finalise capability statements that meet client requests for information.
- Project manage the collection and sourcing of credentials and tenders, pitches, and bids.
- Create and maintain top Digital credentials lists.
- Create and maintain Digital pitching templates and resources on the Digital Business Development Hub.
- Take profile management responsibility for Digital credentials in the Foundation database.
- Take content management responsibility for Digital standard content on the Pitching Centre of Excellence / QorusDocs.
- Work closely with other Business Development teams to provide Digital-related information, credentials, CVs, etc. for panel pitches and significant pitches led by other practice groups.
- Support the Digital Business Development team with Directory and Awards submissions relevant to Digital.
- Work with the Digital Business Development and events teams to execute successful client seminars, third-party, and external events.
- Support delivering best practice/business development soft skills training across the practice group.
- Carry out research tasks.
- Deal with ad-hoc queries from practice group stakeholders and other Business Development teams.
- Give general support, as requested, in relation to Business Development and marketing activities.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Three to four years of business development experience in a professional services firm.
- Degree-educated or similar level of work experience.
- Experience in the New Law legal sector is preferred.
- A background or experience of working in a partnership.
- Proficient systems skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and InterAction.
- Proven ability to think ahead, manage priorities, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and strong work ethic with a willingness to accept ownership of and follow up on tasks without prompting.
- Effective communication skills at all levels, both verbally and written.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
