We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Care Team at Helen & Douglas House, a leading children's hospice in Oxford. As a Nurse - Palliative Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, family-centred care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based nursing care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and support their families.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic care and support to children and young people from 0-18, and their families.
- Contribute to the sharing of knowledge and training within the organisation, in conjunction with the learning and development team.
- Support 24/7 care service consisting of a variety of shifts, including earlies, days, lates, nights, and weekends.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Experience in palliative care of children/adults or working with children with complex health needs or care of children/adults with disabilities.
- Effective collaborative working with professionals from other agencies and disciplines.
- Able to use skills, knowledge, and experience to care for children, young people, and families, based on individual needs.
- Evidence of innovative and evidence-based practice.
- Experience and good understanding of clinical supervision and reflective practice.
- REGISTERED NURSE with valid up-to-date registration with NMC.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
Helen & Douglas House is a registered hospice charity based in Oxford, providing palliative, respite, end-of-life, and bereavement care to life-limited children and their families. We foster a climate where team members feel able to openly question, debate, and appropriately challenge their own and the practice of others; as such, we welcome new ideas and strive to constantly improve our delivery of care to our patients.
