About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Care Team at Helen & Douglas House, a leading children's hospice in Oxford. As a Nurse - Palliative Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, family-centred care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and deliver evidence-based nursing care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and support their families.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to provide holistic care and support to children and young people from 0-18, and their families.
  • Contribute to the sharing of knowledge and training within the organisation, in conjunction with the learning and development team.
  • Support 24/7 care service consisting of a variety of shifts, including earlies, days, lates, nights, and weekends.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in palliative care of children/adults or working with children with complex health needs or care of children/adults with disabilities.
  • Effective collaborative working with professionals from other agencies and disciplines.
  • Able to use skills, knowledge, and experience to care for children, young people, and families, based on individual needs.
  • Evidence of innovative and evidence-based practice.
  • Experience and good understanding of clinical supervision and reflective practice.
Requirements
  • REGISTERED NURSE with valid up-to-date registration with NMC.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
