About the Role:
Essex Police is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Digital Forensic Technician to join their team. As a key member of the Digital Forensic Services, you will play a critical role in the collection and extraction of digital evidence in support of criminal investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and extract digital evidence using standard operating procedures
- Provide advice and assistance to officers and staff on the proportionate extraction of digital data
- Utilize streamlined, targeted extraction techniques or triage capability of sized digital devices to enable faster charging decisions
- Develop and maintain competence under ISO 17025 quality standards
- Stay up-to-date with technical knowledge of specialized Digital Forensic procedures and advancements
Requirements:
- Education to A Level standard or 2 years' recent experience in a Digital Forensic service provider
- Experience with leading digital forensic tools currently employed nationally
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and manage a high caseload
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Emotional resilience and ability to work with sensitive and distressing information
Working Arrangements:
The Senior Digital Forensic Technician role is shift-based, with a 6-week pattern that includes working one weekend in six. Shifts will be detailed in the job offer.
