Payroll Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at STARK Building Materials UK Ltd. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payroll for around 1700 monthly paid employees across the STARK UK Companies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage payroll for a large volume of employees
  • Provide payroll support and advice to STARK colleagues
  • Ensure processes and procedures are adhered to, and maintained, in line with the business controls, internal and external audit procedures
  • Forge and maintain good customer links by ownership of an allocated section of the payroll
  • Contribute to the production of timely and accurate year-end data
  • Carry out all other administrative duties connected with payroll processing
Requirements:
  • Previous high volume end-to-end Payroll experience is preferred
  • Ability to complete manual calculations is desirable
  • Previous experience using Workday would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of manual and computerised payrolls, to include all pay methods and frequencies
  • Working knowledge of UK income tax and National Insurance calculations
  • Knowledge of Statutory Payments (SSP/SMP/SPP/SAP)
  • Basic pensions knowledge
  • Knowledge of Court Orders and Student/Postgraduate Loans
