About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Assistant to join our team at EDEX. As a Graduate Mental Health Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with teaching professionals and support staff to provide individualized support to students with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Assist in the delivery of class material to all students, including those with additional needs.
  • Develop and implement targeted interventions to support students' social, emotional, and mental health.
  • Collaborate with teachers to set and work towards targets aimed at individual pupil development.
  • Plan and run 1:1 and small group sessions to support students' academic and personal growth.
Requirements
  • A graduate with a strong academic background and a degree from a reputable university.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN and SEMH needs, preferably in a school setting.
  • A sufficient understanding of SEN and SEMH needs, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
