Job Summary

The NASUWT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal and Casework to lead our legal and casework team in providing exceptional support to members, lay officials, and casework staff across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest quality legal support service is provided to members, lay officials, and casework staff, adhering to the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act (TULRA) and other relevant legislation.
  • Lead the development of our casework management systems, ensuring they are efficient, effective, and aligned with the union's goals.
  • Develop and implement staff development and professional learning programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the legal and casework team.
  • Manage a large team, providing guidance, support, and direction to ensure the team delivers exceptional results under pressure.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies that advance the union's goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing a large team and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent understanding of employment and trade union law, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and strategic manner.
  • Strong focus on customer service, with a commitment to delivering exceptional results that meet the needs of members and the union.
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
