Job Summary

The NASUWT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Legal and Casework team. As the Head of Legal and Casework, you will be responsible for ensuring that our members receive the highest quality legal support and that our trade union complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Legal and Casework team to provide excellent legal support to members, lay officials, and casework staff across the UK.
  • Ensure compliance with the Trade Union and Labour Relations Act (TULRA) and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective casework management systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their roles effectively.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that the Legal and Casework team is aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the NASUWT.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading a team and managing complex legal cases.
  • Excellent understanding of employment and trade union law.
  • Strong focus on customer service and ability to work under pressure.
  • Commitment to the goals of the trade union movement and to advancing equal opportunities and anti-discrimination.
