Position Overview

In this role, you will report to an established leader in Renewable Energy Procurement, assisting clients in executing significant capital programs and projects aimed at enhancing sustainable energy sources for both customers and the broader community. We are seeking individuals passionate about renewable energy and large-scale projects to join our expanding Procurement team within Contract Services across our UK offices, as we respond to the growing demand for our expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead procurement initiatives across various programs, projects, and commissions, guiding clients toward improved green and sustainable outcomes across diverse renewable energy assets.
  • Enhance client performance and achieve targets related to key capital procurement themes.
  • Drive the development of renewable energy procurement services offered by Turner & Townsend.
  • Lead business development efforts for renewable energy procurement and oversee marketing initiatives for the broader Contract Services capability.
  • Provide hands-on leadership to achieve both team and organizational targets, encompassing business generation, service excellence, and operational growth.
  • Act as a business leader, mentor, and developer of talent, exemplifying Turner & Townsend's leadership principles.
We seek individuals with expertise in integrating excellence into comprehensive procurement activities, alongside core competencies in procurement, supply chain management, and contract management. This includes:
  • Strategic procurement planning and execution for major capital programs and projects throughout the procurement lifecycle.
  • Contract management and supplier evaluation strategies.
  • Supply chain intelligence and management.
  • Negotiation and award of contract terms.
Experience in one or more of the following technologies is advantageous but not mandatory:
  • Hydro-Electric
  • Onshore and Offshore Wind

Qualifications

To deliver exceptional value for our clients, we seek candidates with:
  • A degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Sustainability, Business Management, or related fields.
  • A commitment to achieving or working towards at least a Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
  • Security Clearance (SC) - currently valid or eligible for reinstatement, though not essential.
Experience
  • Broad procurement consulting experience from client, contractor, or professional services backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of responsible sourcing areas, including human rights, environmental standards, health and safety, anti-bribery and corruption, and labor practices.
  • A solid understanding of the UK and international energy sectors, related technologies, and regulatory frameworks is preferred.
  • Proven success in supplier engagement.
