They help to deliver public services across the local area, making a positive impact on the community and lives of the residents.
Your new role
Key Responsibilities- Reporting into the Head of Procurement, you'll be leading the organisation's approach to the procurement of goods, works & services efficiently within the complex regulatory environment of public sector procurement.
- You'll manage and govern a portfolio of corporate contracts to help gain increased value from suppliers, mitigate risk and control the overall spend.
- You'll be acting as the Council's lead contract management professional and make a significant impact on a range of services by influencing, shaping and challenging at senior level to ensure that relevant regulations, best practices and policies are taken into account.
- A relevant degree or procurement & supply chain qualification (CIPS Level 6)
- A broad understanding of the public sector procurement and Public Contract Regulations 2015
- Experience working closely with and advising Senior Leadership
- Confident communication and negotiation skills, with a focus on building strong corporate supplier relationships and the management thereof
- Contract management experience within the public sector
