Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Procurement Officer to join our team at Scott Aerospace Limited. As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining strategic and key supplier relationships, providing clear communication on day-to-day procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strategic and key supplier relationships, providing clear communication on day-to-day procurement activities.
- Assist our team of buyers in managing the day-to-day procurement operations, including supplier performance, risk, escalation, and improvement initiatives, ensuring key project deliverables are achieved.
- Accountable for successful supplier performance management using vendor scorecards and supporting the team dealing with key suppliers to provide performance improvements as required.
- Prepare appropriate reporting on KPIs for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities.
- Support the procurement manager in the tendering and sourcing process in accordance with agreed project deliverables.
- Confidently negotiate and agree terms and conditions, and contractual agreements, including the flow-down and management of KPIs.
- Attend supplier and customer meetings, and engagements, both on-site and off-site.
- Ownership of procurement master data within our systems, ensuring the accuracy of this data.
- Manage and mentor a team of junior buyers and deputise for the Procurement Manager where appropriate.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years' experience, preferably in an engineering and/or defence environment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- MCIPS/CIPS desirable but not essential.
- Comfortable with 4 days office, 1 day at home.
- Proven track record of identifying and delivering procurement savings.
- Experience of managing, driving, and developing supplier and stakeholder relationships.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
