Role Overview

We are currently seeking seasoned Cost Consultants to join our Manchester team, offering an opportunity to advance your career in cost management. You will engage in a variety of leading infrastructure projects spanning sectors such as transportation, utilities, and highways.

As a Lead Cost Consultant, you will have the chance to work on innovative projects while enhancing your operational and technical skills. Key Responsibilities:

  • Building positive, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in the projects we support.
  • Managing a variety of contracts in alignment with project goals and policies.
  • Delivering precise project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure completion within budget.
  • Actively overseeing and managing cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to oversee the achievement of project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including performance, cost control, and value engineering.
  • Effectively managing contract changes to ensure projects adhere to governance and best practices.
  • Promoting improvements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing sound commercial insight and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Leading teams and commissions as required.

Qualifications:

Candidates with experience or a solid understanding of the following will have a distinct advantage:

  • Risk Management knowledge
  • Procurement experience
  • Estimating capabilities

  • Sharing of best practices
  • People management skills
  • Commission management experience
  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies and improvements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of construction industry technical matters, including various procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • Ideally Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant field
  • Ideally hold or be pursuing membership in a relevant professional body.
