Role Overview

Our Manchester team is on the lookout for seasoned Quantity Surveyors eager to expand their industry knowledge and advance their careers in cost management. This position offers the chance to engage in a variety of leading infrastructure projects across sectors such as transportation, utilities, and highways.

As a Lead Cost Estimator, you will be involved in thrilling projects while enhancing your operational and technical skill set. Key Responsibilities:

  • Building positive, professional relationships with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders involved in our projects.
  • Managing a diverse range of contracts in alignment with project goals and policies.
  • Delivering precise project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure completion within budget.
  • Actively overseeing and managing cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and accurate applications.
  • Collaborating with client and contractor teams to ensure the successful delivery of project objectives, including performance metrics, cost management, and value engineering.
  • Effectively managing contract changes to keep projects within governance and adhere to best practices.
  • Promoting enhancements in the accuracy of forecasts and budgets.
  • Providing valuable commercial insights and support to all stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the negotiation and agreement of final accounts.
  • Leading teams and projects as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

A solid understanding and experience in the following areas will be advantageous for this role:

  • Identifying and implementing efficiencies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of construction industry technical aspects, including various procurement methods, value management, and value engineering.
  • Ideally, a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
  • Ideally, membership or progress towards a recognized professional body.
