Job Title: Consultant Haematologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our team at University Hospital Lewisham (UHL). As a key member of our Haematology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive Haemato-Oncology, General Haematology, and Laboratory Haematology services to patients at UHL and the local community.
  • Work collaboratively with Consultant colleagues, junior doctors, nurses, laboratory staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Take part in on-call rota on a 1:5 basis at UHL and contribute to Clinical Governance as a practicing clinician.
  • Participate in audit and teaching/training of junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
Person Specification:
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification.
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification.
  • FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration within six months of interview.
  • UK-trained applicants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
Requirements:
  • Experience of all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology with a broad base in Adult Haematology service delivery capabilities.
  • Evidence of participation in audit projects.
  • Completion of a course or certificate related to teaching/training.
