We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a key member of our Haematology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive Haemato-Oncology, General Haematology, and Laboratory Haematology services to patients at University Hospital Lewisham.
- Work collaboratively with Consultant colleagues, junior doctors, nurses, laboratory staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care.
- Take part in on-call rota and contribute to the clinical leadership of the department.
- Participate in managerial duties and contribute to the development of our services.
- Undertake clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.
- MBBS or equivalent qualification.
- MRCP or equivalent qualification.
- FRCPath or equivalent qualification.
- Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for registration within six months of interview.
- Experience of all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology with a broad base in Adult Haematology service delivery capabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership and organisational ability.
- Able to take responsibility and cope with stressful situations.
