About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Haematologist to join our team at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust. As a Consultant Haematologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of healthcare professionals, and contributing to the development of our Haematology service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive Haemato-Oncology, General Haematology, and Laboratory Haematology services to patients at University Hospital Lewisham (UHL)
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to improve patient outcomes
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and laboratory staff
  • Contribute to the development of our Haematology service, including the expansion of treatment capacity for malignant and non-malignant haematology
  • Participate in clinical governance and audit activities to ensure high-quality patient care
  • Teach and train junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • FRCPath or equivalent qualification
  • Full and Specialist registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Experience of all aspects of clinical and laboratory haematology
  • Leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
