Position: Electrical Project Engineer

Location: Hybrid – Working out of Coventry, with occasional site visits.

Salary: Circa £40,000 - £50,000

As a leading provider of multimillion-pound turnkey solutions in the sectors of Quarrying, Aggregates, Groundworks, and Road Construction, we are currently engaged in significant projects, including sections of the HS2 rail link and the A5 expansion in Northern Ireland, alongside various large-scale quarrying initiatives.

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team, ready to take on diverse and challenging projects. The ideal candidate will be based in the Midlands and possess demonstrable experience in major quarrying turnkey installation projects or related construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transform electrical designs into actionable project plans.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment with client specifications, safety standards, quality assurance, and project timelines.
  • Assist in value engineering to identify potential cost overruns and implement preemptive cost management strategies.
  • Support project procurement timelines, ensuring milestones are value-centric to optimize cash flow.
  • Identify and evaluate potential project risks, developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Document project activities thoroughly, including progress reports and adherence to timelines.
  • Engage with designers, maintenance teams, and clients to foster strong collaboration.
  • Provide regular updates on project milestones to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate efforts among electrical engineers, technicians, contractors, and subcontractors.

Required Experience / Skills:
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering with a proven track record in project execution and commissioning.
  • Background in operational and maintenance engineering, with a focus on successful plant improvements.
  • Ability to analyze machinery operations and identify process bottlenecks for improvement.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in interpreting 3D models and design schematics.
  • Hands-on experience in commissioning electrical installations and facilitating transitions to full production.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Project.
  • Experience across multiple engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation.
  • Familiarity with material handling and heavy industrial machinery is advantageous.
