We're seeking a highly skilled Manager to join Anson McCade's Deal Advisory practice, specializing in Power & Utilities Transactions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with large corporates in the sector, including energy, water, and other utilities, as well as investors and suppliers to these sectors.

This business area is currently divided into several practices, including Finance, Regulation, Projects, Renewables, Strategy, Benchmarking, and Transactions, and is continuously expanding with consistent double-digit growth over the last decade.

The Manager Power & Utilities Transactions role involves:

  • Managing day-to-day delivery of specific engagements.
  • Leading internal project teams and coordinating with external advisors.
  • Developing and reviewing high-quality client outputs.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Staying updated with key sectors in Power & Utilities.
  • Coaching and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ensuring compliance with Anson McCade's quality and risk management procedures.
  • Performing business development activities to support the growth of the utilities infrastructure business.
  • Promoting our services through networking, thought leadership, and speaking engagements.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in financial advice, project finance, and corporate finance.
  • Proven track record of working on major projects.
  • In-depth understanding of key value drivers in projects such as policy, regulation, financing, and investments.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modelling, including scenario modelling and risk analysis.
  • Familiarity with construction contract terms (e.g., NEC4) and alternative funding models (e.g., CfD, RAB, PPA).
  • Strong report and business case writing skills, with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to identify and analyze key value drivers for projects.
  • Experience in investment appraisal and development/building of financial models.
  • Comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams (economics, finance, legal, engineering).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage client relationships.
  • Demonstrated commercial awareness.

  • Skilled in client relationship management with a track record of delivering high-quality outputs.
  • Proficient in financial modelling and complex financial analysis.
  • Knowledgeable about typical financial structures and financing solutions in the sector.

  • Driven with a proactive attitude to open new opportunities.
  • Comfortable working at pace during intense engagement periods.
