GIS Spatial Analyst

We are seeking an experienced GIS Spatial Modeller to join our team at UKCEH, a leading independent, not-for-profit research institute. As a valued member of our team, you will contribute to scientific discovery and generate data, insights, and solutions that researchers, businesses, and governments need to solve complex environmental challenges.
Main Responsibilities- Process and analyze large datasets using GIS software and programming languages such as R or Python.
- Contribute to scientific outputs, including peer-reviewed publications, customer reports, and presentations.
- Lead or manage tasks within projects, engaging with stakeholders and developing good working relationships.
- Develop and apply new data analysis and modeling approaches, working with the team to advance our research.
- PhD in a relevant subject, such as Geography, Ecology, or GIS, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience with GIS and handling raster and vector spatial datatypes.
- Excellent data management and time management skills, with the ability to work to project deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- Experience of writing first-author scientific papers.
- Experience of leading project tasks and understanding project management methods to meet deliverables.
