Environmental Data Specialist

UKCEH is seeking a highly skilled GIS Spatial Modeller to join our team of researchers and scientists. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for applying your expertise in spatial data analysis to ecosystem services modelling, with a focus on people-environment interactions in urban settings.
Key Responsibilities- Process and analyze large datasets using GIS software and programming languages such as R and Python.
- Contribute to scientific outputs, including peer-reviewed publications, customer reports, and presentations.
- Lead and manage tasks within projects, engaging with stakeholders and developing good working relationships.
- Develop and implement new data analysis and modelling approaches, working collaboratively with the team.
- PhD in a relevant subject, such as Geography, Ecology, or GIS, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience with GIS software and programming languages.
- Excellent data management and time management skills, with the ability to work to project deadlines.
- Experience in presenting activities and outcomes to a range of audiences, including non-specialists.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop good working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- Experience of writing first-author scientific papers.
- Experience of leading project tasks and understanding project management methods to meet deliverables.
