Regional Resource Manager Job Description

The Regional Resource Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal allocation of driver and vehicle resources across various terminals within their region. This position requires strong planning and coordination skills to maximize efficiency while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a deep understanding of short-term, medium-term, and long-term resource requirements within the region.
  • Collaborate closely with planners to flex resources up and down, ensuring seamless operations and meeting customer demands.
  • Authorize driver holiday and absence requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address driver resource shortfalls, prioritizing local overtime, cross-contracting, and agency resource utilization.
  • Engage with clients to provide updates on upcoming resource provision, fostering strong relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Act as duty manager on a rotational basis, handling operational issues, resolving resource shortfalls, and providing support during peak periods.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in resource management or relevant planning roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with drivers and other stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with ATOSS beneficial, although not essential.
  • Valid UK driving license and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to live within a commutable distance to the terminal.
