About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at The Forward Trust. As a key member of our prison IAPT service, you will work with adults on an individual face-to-face basis or through facilitating therapeutic groups, providing evidence-based psychological interventions to those individuals presenting with mild to moderate depression and anxiety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess service users' suitability for evidence-based psychological interventions, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and low-intensity interventions.
  • Deliver a wide range of CBT-based interventions, including group work, group psycho-educational workshops, and computerized CBT.
  • Undertake patient-centred interviews to identify areas where the individual wishes to see change and recovery, and make an accurate assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Support prisoners with common mental health problems in the self-management of their recovery.
  • Maintain quality standards in the delivery of the service.

Requirements

  • A qualified or soon-to-be qualified Mental Health Practitioner with experience of undertaking CBT assessments and delivering CBT and low-intensity interventions.
  • Flexibility to work with service users to meet their needs.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health difficulties and those in primary care.
