About the Role

Insight Select is seeking a skilled Product Design Specialist to join our team in Lutterworth. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing store fit outs for our clients in the retail industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings and specifications to meet customer needs
  • Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems to complete drawings and specifications
  • Attend client meetings to discuss project requirements and progress
  • Liaise with project managers and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth product prototype development
  • Produce detailed reports from meetings, highlighting key points and action items
  • Specify the best materials for projects, considering factors such as cost, quality, and sustainability
  • Liaise with clients to understand their specific requirements and preferences
  • Develop installation manuals to ensure seamless product installation
  • Attend client meetings to discuss project progress and address any concerns
  • Update project planning schedules to reflect changes and progress
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the retail or design industry
  • Experience in designing products, including retail fixtures and fittings
  • Valid driving license
  • Confidence in communicating with clients and stakeholders
  • Degree in a relevant field, such as design, engineering, or architecture
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, Adobe Suite, and SketchUp
  • Experience with PLM systems
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration and communication skills
