Senior Design Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer to join our team at Futura Design Limited. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the development of retail customer-facing products, working closely with cross-functional teams in Industrial Design, Strategic Sourcing, Quality Assurance, and OE Product Development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design systems and components for new and updated accessory projects, considering function, cost, manufacture, assembly, and quality.
  • Produce high-quality 3D CAD models using Creo and 2D engineering drawings to ASME Y14.5.
  • Follow and help maintain design, operational, and quality procedures.
  • Liaise with internal departments, such as Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Assembly, as well as outside suppliers.
  • Manage your own time and workload effectively and create and manage timing plans for your areas of responsibility.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum 2:1) with proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably Pro-engineer/CREO.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience designing for manufacture and showing a good knowledge of processes, such as castings, forgings, sheet metal, and injection mouldings.
  • Experience of creating and releasing 2D technical drawings to ASME Y and understanding of geometric tolerances on 2D drawings.
  • Good understanding of motorcycle chassis layout and construction, as well as practical experience of vehicle maintenance and preparation.
  • Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members is advantageous, and IMechE membership is desirable.
