Role Overview
The Project Operations Manager plays a crucial role in supervising and coordinating the efforts of the Project Engineering and Field Service teams to guarantee effective project execution, optimal field operations, and client satisfaction. This position demands a strategic leader capable of managing intricate projects, offering technical direction, and promoting ongoing enhancements within the teams. The Project Operations Manager will be key in connecting project planning with execution, ensuring that all operations are in line with organizational objectives and client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
- Guide and mentor the Project Engineering and Field Service teams, cultivating a collaborative and high-performing work atmosphere.
- Formulate and execute operational strategies aimed at boosting efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
- Effectively allocate resources to meet project timelines and field service obligations.
Project Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and conclusion of engineering projects, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and budgetary limits.
- Track project progress and performance, implementing corrective measures as necessary to resolve any challenges or delays.
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure transparent communication and alignment on project goals and schedules.
Field Service Oversight:
- Manage the Field Service team to ensure prompt and effective resolution of customer inquiries and maintenance requests.
- Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field operations to uphold high service delivery standards.
- Monitor and analyze field service performance metrics, driving enhancements based on data insights.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify and execute process enhancements to optimize project engineering and field service operations.
- Stay informed about industry trends and technological advancements to foster innovation within the teams.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and development through training and professional growth opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in project engineering and field service management, ideally within a technical or industrial environment.
- Strong grasp of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and field service operations.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven track record of successfully managing and developing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Capability to make strategic decisions and resolve complex issues in a dynamic environment.
- Project & Operations Management:
- Proficient in project management tools and software.
- Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and performance tracking.
- Proven ability to drive operational efficiencies and implement process improvements.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving:
- Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate project and service performance metrics.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Innovative mindset focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Proficient in PC and MS Office applications, along with experience in specialized programming or design software.
- Good understanding of legislation, British Standards, European standards, and international standards.
- Experience in aquaculture, agriculture, marine, or offshore sectors would be advantageous.
