Mechanical Cost Estimator at DMW Recruitment

DMW Recruitment is in search of a Mechanical Cost Estimator to become a vital part of our client's reputable building services team.

Salary Range: £45,000 to £55,000 based on experience

Our client is recognized for their expertise in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) design and execution across various sectors including healthcare, residential, commercial, and industrial.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven history of estimating and securing profitable contracts. We are looking for a collaborative individual who is eager to learn, has a keen eye for detail, and demonstrates critical thinking abilities alongside strong interpersonal skills such as active listening, negotiation, and effective communication.

This dynamic organization actively promotes continuous development and skill enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tender Management: Effectively communicate tender requirements to the bidding team, ensuring all details are accurately addressed.
  • Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to create suitable and innovative pricing designs.
  • Quantity Take-Offs: Generate precise cost estimates by extracting quantities from tender drawings.
  • Rate Development: Establish rates utilizing labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Supply Chain Oversight: Ensure timely and competitive quotes from the supply chain.
  • Value Engineering: Propose innovative solutions to enhance tender submissions.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Tender Presentations: Assist in the preparation and presentation of tender documents.
  • Document Preparation: Produce accurate final tender documents for clients.
  • Detailed Tender Management: Thoroughly manage tenders to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Cost Planning: Ensure accurate cost planning that reflects project needs.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow company procedures and policies diligently.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage potential project risks and opportunities.
  • Cost Analysis: Prepare competitive pricing costings.
