Compensation: Competitive salary based on relevant skills, experience, and location, including a £4,200 vehicle allowance or £3,700 cash equivalent, comprehensive family private healthcare, potential for annual bonuses, and a generous annual leave package of 27.5 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after a decade of service.

Role Overview:

This position is a national role requiring regular travel to various operational sites. We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Royal Mail Group. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering design initiatives, driving innovation and solutions at both central and local levels.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance in-house manufacturing capabilities for critical engineering design projects.
  • Advocate for new processes that foster in-house capabilities, innovation, and professional development within the engineering team.
  • Collaborate closely with maintenance teams to enhance the reliability of existing automation systems.
  • Inspire and motivate a team of technical experts to achieve high performance.
  • Promote a positive business culture, embodying the values of professionalism, positivity, and engagement within all areas of Engineering.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a level 4 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in an electrical engineering discipline.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in detailed product design and development within an automated environment.
  • A robust engineering background with a demonstrated ability to approach engineering challenges with innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in utilizing CAD/CAM software.
  • Familiarity with design packages such as Autodesk.
  • A successful track record of meeting product development deadlines and quality standards.
  • Experience in delivering improvements and initiatives in demanding environments.
