About the Role

The Senior General Manager will be responsible for the development and delivery of the service strategy, business plan, and key performance and activity targets for the Head and Neck Care Group. This will include robust financial planning and management, as well as ensuring comprehensive controls assurance across all standards and maintaining effective systems of integrated governance and risk management.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead on specific professional projects/topics at a corporate level, as agreed with the relevant Director.
  • Develop the leadership, managerial, and business capability of managers in the Care Group to support effective delivery, financial performance, and service improvement.
  • Participate on the Trust on-call rota.

About the Team

The Senior General Manager will work as part of the Head and Neck Senior Management team with joint responsibility with the Specialty Clinical Leads and Senior Matron for overall efficient and effective leadership, management, and performance.

Requirements

  • Significant experience working on both strategic and operational matters.
  • Significant NHS/public sector experience and knowledge, including up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NHS systems and policies.
  • Demonstrable success in building, leading, motivating, and developing multidisciplinary teams as a highly effective people manager.
  • Proven experience of effective performance and budgetary management and control.
  • Proven success in business planning and in the development of business cases.
  • Experience of leadership of complex operational change/project management while also developing and maintaining high standards of quality.
