Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Applications Team based in Coventry.

This role may also be known as BI Developer, SQL Engineer, or Data Architect.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development of MTC's BI Hub and data infrastructure.
  • Support requirements gathering, problem-solving, data modelling, design, creation, testing, and user/colleague guidance for established BI hub and MTC's data infrastructure.
  • Support and further develop an established business intelligence data infrastructure.
  • In collaboration with Application Owners, develop new data models for reporting.

Main focus is on creating and maintaining data pipelines, data storage solutions, data processing, and data integration to enable Application Owners to create PowerBI reports, all based within Microsoft Azure cloud platform.

Requirements
  • Broad knowledge and working experience of various Microsoft Business Intelligence related applications and tools at multiple levels, including FabricData lakes, Synapse, Data Factory, DevOps, Purview, CDM Utility, Event Grid, Serverless SQL pools, Dedicated SQL pools, and PowerBI.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels, from individual users and managers to company-wide communications.
  • Knowledge of D365 Finance, Project Operations, Sales, Customer Insights available and custom entities, data structures - preferred/desirable.
  • Ability to create, review, feedback on, and manage high-quality functional documentation. Business analysis skills, ensuring knowledge retention within Enterprise Applications department.
  • Able to liaise with 3rd parties and implement required changes.
  • ITIL qualification desirable at foundation level.
