Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Management: Assist in the day-to-day management of our waste collection operations, ensuring that all services are delivered to the highest standard and in compliance with relevant legislation.
  2. Route Optimization: Co-ordinate the allocation of drivers, vehicles, and work requirements to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  3. Driver Management: Monitor and manage driver performance, ensuring that all drivers are using the correct procedures and that any issues are addressed promptly.
  4. Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers, ensuring that all queries and concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments, including sales and customer services, to ensure that all aspects of the business are aligned and working towards common goals.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the waste management industry.
  • Strong operational management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, with a focus on identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Goods Vehicle Operating Licence.
