Job Title: Senior Fashion Designer - Jersey Day Dresses

ASOS is seeking a talented Senior Fashion Designer to join our team in the Jersey Day Dresses department. As a Senior Fashion Designer, you will be responsible for creating exciting, fashion-forward product for our customers, globally.

About the Role

The Senior Fashion Designer will be responsible for:

  • Strategizing seasonal direction for the Jersey Day Dresses department, including shape, trend, and first-to-market must-haves.
  • Researching, developing, and designing across multi-product categories, including identifying key shapes for the season, selecting fabrics, and building a range for the ASOS customer.
  • Presenting trend research to Buying and other teams, where relevant.
  • Using relevant sales data and insights to design commercially-relevant, fashion-forward ranges.
  • Sourcing new fabrications, techniques, and trimmings.
  • Travelling to supplier appointments within the UK and abroad to develop ranges and products.
  • Working closely with in-house Buying teams to create fresh product, each season.
  • Working with the Technical team on fits on a weekly basis, identifying and helping create new silhouette blocks for the department.
  • Building relationships with suppliers and advising factories on direction, silhouette, construction, key details, fabrics, trimmings, and artworks.
  • Managing and developing an Assistant Designer, supporting their development, planning workload, and prioritizing deadlines.
  • Supporting our culture by driving Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous multi-product Design experience within an aspirational brand or high street Retailer.
  • Previous experience of direct sourcing from fabric mills, with knowledge of cut and construction.
  • A strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the ASOS Brand and Customer.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring an Assistant.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Adobe, CAD.
  • Comfortable and experienced in travelling in the UK and internationally for supplier/product development meetings and inspirational purposes.
  • Plugged into 20-something culture and fashion, passionate about the product.
  • Strong organisation skills and able to use their initiative and work in a high-pressured environment.
  • The ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
