Operations Manager for Reactive Rail Projects
We are in search of an Operations Manager to lead our reactive works on the rail network. This pivotal leadership position is responsible for managing the execution of our project portfolio, with a strong emphasis on Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ), alongside financial performance.
In this role, you will collaborate with essential stakeholders to ensure that client requirements are fulfilled through effective coordination of reactive and planned maintenance activities.
Core ResponsibilitiesClient Engagement
- Foster robust relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Suggest proactive measures in response to evolving needs
- Oversee stakeholder management throughout project lifecycles
- Lead a team of proficient supervisors and operatives
- Guarantee adherence to HSQE protocols
- Track project progress, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and uphold quality benchmarks
- Provide support for urgent project requirements
- Participate in meetings, document discussions, and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Develop and monitor project timelines, addressing issues as they arise
- Maintain a project data management system for client visibility
- Ensure project advancement without risks, conducting monthly risk assessments
- Identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures
- Manage safety, quality, and environmental considerations
- Oversee and nurture team members, ensuring skill competency
- Direct and manage subcontractors and internal teams
- Serve as a role model for the broader team
- Assist commercial teams in fulfilling external obligations
- Update project schedules, aid in forecasting and performance evaluations
- Support the preparation of quotations, approvals, and invoice processing
- Excellent communication abilities, demonstrated project management expertise
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities, with a knack for team management
- In-depth understanding of construction practices and trades
- Relevant industry qualifications, including CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certification
- Awareness of CDM regulations, valid driving license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in construction management, personal track safety, and mandatory training specific to Sisk Rail
