Position Overview
As a pivotal member of the Morgan Sindall Group PLC engineering team, you will engage with key stakeholders in the Nuclear sector, contributing to the delivery of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) projects, including technical feasibility assessments and evaluations of best available technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead engineer for Process and Mechanical (P&M) aspects in the development of conceptual and basic designs for new facilities or modifications to existing ones.
  • Provide expert guidance and oversight to third-party engineering service providers throughout the design development process.
  • Manage specifications for Plant Design requirements, ensuring alignment with asset protection strategies, capital expenditure plans, and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the establishment of design standards that meet world-class safety benchmarks and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and conduct analyses to foster a learning environment based on past experiences.
  • Ensure that advanced plant designs incorporate safety features derived from industry best practices and lessons learned.
  • Oversee the delivery of conceptual designs and specifications, focusing on P&M expertise.
  • Lead the development of Basic Design packages related to Core Plant Technology (CPT) concerning P&M systems and equipment.
  • Provide direction and oversight for detailed design processes and supplier quality assurance as requested by project managers.
  • Maintain and enhance Core Plant Technology design expertise, ensuring adherence to best practices and state-of-the-art technology.
  • Establish and uphold Group Reference Design and safety case standards, including requirements for core UF6 enrichment and related systems.
  • Facilitate Post Implementation Reviews to create feedback loops for continuous improvement in safety and operational compliance.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physics, Process Technology, Nuclear Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent qualifications in relevant fields.
  • Proven experience in delivering successful designs for complex process facilities.
  • Extensive experience in plant design within the nuclear sector.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in modeling and simulating complex integrated process systems, addressing both process and mechanical requirements.
  • Experience in the nuclear process industry, particularly in P&M roles.
  • Ability to analyze complex measurement data to enhance performance and identify root causes of issues.
