About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a Principal or Associate Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team.
  • Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance to ensure they develop their skills and we get the best out of our people.
  • Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resource, and work delivered.
  • Look at new ways of working and take time out for innovation and research to ensure we keep abreast of our competitors.
  • Create and maintain a high reputation within the industry, and ensure adherence to quality management and risk control procedures.
About You

We are looking for a suitably qualified Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineers degree holder or equivalent qualification. Chartered Engineer status or working towards submission to either CIBSE or IMechE or equivalent is also required.

You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.

You will have experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, leading, motivating, and supervising junior/senior engineers. With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will have proven ability in negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, motivation, and management.
