About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychological Consultant to join our team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is a new and exciting leadership position that will build on the committed work already in place across our services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support the education and training for our Psychological Professions workforce across the Trust and wider system.
  • Work alongside our Divisional Leads for Psychological Professions to champion opportunities supporting the diverse representation and expansion of our workforce.
  • Develop and implement education and training offers meeting clinical professional development needs.

Person Specification
  • Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession or equivalent.
  • Registered with a professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Post-doctoral training in one or more highly specialist areas of psychological practice.
  • Post-graduate qualification in leadership/management.
  • Experience of the professional management of registered and pre-registered clinical/counselling, psychological therapists and psychologists.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the field of Clinical/counselling/health/forensic psychology.
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
  • Highly developed and advanced knowledge of the theory and practice of specialized psychological therapies in specific 'difficult to treat' groups.
