The Athletic Rehabilitation Specialist will assist the Lead Academy Physiotherapist in the design, organization, and execution of medical assessments, health education, injury prevention, and recovery programs for Academy athletes. Additionally, there will be a requirement to provide training and match day medical support as necessary.

Candidate Profile

EDUCATION: Degree in Sports Therapy / BASRaT or equivalent qualification.

INJURY MANAGEMENT


• Provide exceptional medical services for all FGR Women athletes.


• Apply evidence-based methodologies and advanced clinical reasoning throughout the rehabilitation process.


• Effectively communicate with team members to ensure comprehensive updates on player injuries and recovery status.

WARM-UP ACTIVITIES


• Conduct a 10-20 minute warm-up session at the beginning of training activities.

INJURY PREVENTION STRATEGIES


• Collaborate with the Sports Science Department to create and implement effective injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies.


• Perform evidence-based musculoskeletal assessments to inform tailored injury prevention programs that address specific risk factors.

MEDICAL COVERAGE DURING EVENTS


• Oversee medical coverage for matches (primarily on weekends).


• Ensure adequate medical support is available at all events, adhering to competition standards and maintaining compliance with emergency action plans.


• Regularly review and maintain medical equipment and emergency procedures.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES


• Ensure all medical documentation is accurately recorded and securely stored.


• Actively participate in the development of medical policies and protocols.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT


• Take ownership of personal professional growth, staying informed about current practices.


• Aim to enhance operational practices within the Medical Department.

CHILD SAFEGUARDING

This position involves working with minors, necessitating adherence to all relevant policies and a commitment to safeguarding.
