About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Actuarial Assistant to join our team at IDEX Consulting Ltd. As an Actuarial Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our clients in the insurance pricing sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct cash flow valuations of funds, considering buyout/buy-in insurance contracts.
  • Prepare data and actuarial bases using in-house standard approaches and software.
  • Develop complex actuarial models and calculations, including individual benefit and transfer value calculations.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant technical issues, including scheme documentation, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards.
  • Communicate findings and reports to the team leader and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in pensions valuations is essential.
  • Strong IT skills, with expertise in MS Excel.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to work through tasks logically.
  • A keen interest in actuarial concepts and a high level of numeracy.
  • Ability to work well under time pressure and communicate findings clearly.
  • Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Broad understanding of how the UK pensions schemes operate, with an understanding of the UK Pensions Act.
