Job Title: Urban Design Tools Officer

We are seeking an experienced Urban Design Tools Officer to join our team at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. As an Urban Design Tools Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of innovative tools, templates, and products to help local authorities, developers, and other planning and development stakeholders design better and higher-quality places.

About the Role:

As an Urban Design Tools Officer, you will work closely with our team to develop and deliver a range of digital tools and products that support the creation and stewardship of popular, healthy, beautiful, and sustainable places.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and delivery of digital tools and products that support urban design and placemaking
  • Collaborate with local authorities, developers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements
  • Work closely with our team to design and build digital tools and products that are user-friendly and effective
  • Provide technical expertise and support to local authorities and other stakeholders on the use of digital tools and products
  • Contribute to the development of our placemaking strategy and ensure that our work is aligned with our organisational goals

Requirements:

  • Experience in urban design and placemaking, with a strong understanding of the planning process and the role of digital tools in supporting placemaking
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and CAD
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results
