About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Specialist Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care and support to patients with severe and complex eating disorders in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessments, formulations, care planning, treatment, and review of care in line with clinical guidelines and Trust policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments of individuals and their environments, and develop risk management plans in collaboration with service users, carers, and other professionals.
  • Conduct and oversee physical health care checks and act upon findings.
  • Act as a key worker for allocated cases as required.
  • Offer therapeutic interventions for eating disorders within your competency and training, such as psychoeducation, motivational enhancement, and person-centered counseling.
  • Undertake, supervise, and sign-off nursing needs assessments.
  • Use Trust information systems to enter patient data, activity data, and incident reporting in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse, Registered Mental Health Nurse, or Registered LD Nurse with post-qualification training in psychosocial interventions and working with people with disordered eating.
  • Experience of working with people with eating disorders or in a similar setting, including those with severe and enduring mental illness.
  • Ability to manage competing tasks, prioritize workload effectively, and engage positively with a wide range of people with respect for diversity and encouraging inclusion.
  • Knowledge and skills in physical health monitoring, IT literacy, and collaborative relationships within the clinical team and with other professionals.
