Project Control Specialist - HVP

Location: Warrington

Bilfinger UK is a prominent provider of engineering and maintenance services, catering to clients in sectors such as chemical & petrochemical, nuclear, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals & biopharma, power & energy, utilities, renewables, and food & beverage. Role Overview

The Project Control Specialist plays a crucial role in advising and steering the organization towards achieving transparency in costs and expenditures, implementing project controls, and overseeing planning activities across various projects and contracts. This position is essential for maintaining consistency and best practices throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and oversee a comprehensive project control strategy while upholding the project controls plan and related procedures
  • Ensure the adoption of project schedules, encompassing resource allocation, critical path analysis, and progress tracking across all initiatives
  • Establish cost management systems to monitor, regulate, and report financial expenditures
  • Assist in the creation, integration, and optimization of project timelines
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Resource Directors to manage the allocation of necessary resources and expertise for effective project control execution
  • Work with project teams to identify potential risks and develop corresponding control measures, as well as opportunities for improvement
  • Support the development and performance monitoring of key contracts
  • Take ownership of updating business processes and reporting systems/timelines until project completion
  • Create tailored and/or standard rules of credit
  • Develop structured naming conventions in P6 for implementation across the organization

Specific Duties

  • Review and authorize all cost/planning information required for Monthly Project Board meetings prior to distribution
  • Organize and lead Project Control Meetings
  • Ensure robust monthly updates to project risk registers and value analysis processes are maintained
  • Manage the integration of schedules from various sources
  • Implement progress tracking and productivity assessment
  • Define and distribute the project work breakdown structure and estimating format
  • Monitor financial outlays and adjust budgets in line with the project change control system

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proficient in P6 software
  • Minimum of 8 years in a leadership capacity within project controls
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related fields, alongside twelve years of experience in Construction Management, with relevant certifications such as ICostE, CEng, or IEng
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, estimating software, and SAP
  • Experience in Project Management Office (PMO) environments
  • Knowledge and experience with PowerBI and Microsoft tools
