About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Cancer Care Coordinator to join our Oncology Team at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. As a key member of our team, you will provide exceptional care and support to patients with urinary cancers, ensuring a smooth and positive experience throughout their cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized care and support to patients with urinary cancers, under the guidance of the Clinical Nurse Specialist.
  • Coordinate investigations, procedures, and treatment bookings in a timely manner, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement holistic care plans, promoting patient-centered care and self-management.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare teams, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and diplomacy.
  • Contribute to the development of health and well-being events and information packs, supporting the recovery agenda and self-management.
Requirements
  • QCF or BTEC or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care/Clinical Health, or completion of NHSP Care Support Worker Development Programme with 3 months experience as a Health Care Support Worker + an English and Maths qualification at Level 1.
  • Experience of working with people in a caring setting, with a desire to deliver compassionate hands-on care in the hospital environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to meet the minimum skill set within the first twelve months of appointment.
