Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a competency-based care certificate, including workbook AND
  • At least 6 months of experience as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital setting or 1 year of experience in a Nursing/Care Home environment.

Candidates are encouraged to utilize the supporting evidence section of their application to illustrate how they meet the above criteria. Please note that this position may close earlier than the stated deadline if a sufficient number of applications are received.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work across a VARIETY of specialties within the Trust to address short-term needs. The role involves addressing both physical and emotional requirements, necessitating a flexible approach while collaborating as part of a larger team.

Selected individuals must be available to participate in a Mandatory Induction Programme (terms & conditions apply), which includes TWO FULL WEEKS (Monday to Friday) plus two additional recall days.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential:

  • A foundational understanding of basic patient care.

Experience Requirements:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 6 months working as a Healthcare Support Worker in an acute hospital environment or 1 year of experience in a Nursing/Care Home setting.
  • Prior experience in public-facing roles and within a care environment/NHS.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Completion of a competency-based care certificate, including workbook.

Desirable:

  • Completion of short courses related to patient and clinical care duties.

Technical Skills Competencies:

Essential:

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently.

Desirable:

  • Skills in venepuncture and cannulation.
