Band 6 Senior Intensive Care Practitioner
2 months ago
Position Overview
We are seeking a Band 6 Senior Intensive Care Practitioner to become a vital part of our dedicated team. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and driven professional looking to embrace new challenges within a dynamic service environment. Whether you are transitioning from inpatient care to community settings or are a Band 5 professional ready to advance into a senior position, we welcome your interest.
The North Wiltshire Intensive Service offers a supportive atmosphere that fosters the development of both clinical and leadership skills, which are often not available in other roles due to the fast-paced and high-demand nature of our service. Our team has successfully guided numerous clinicians through personalized training pathways, enabling them to achieve promotions and expand their roles within the organization.
The Band 6 practitioner will be required to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, with the benefit of no night shifts. We are open to both full-time and part-time applications, and flexible working arrangements can be discussed.
Main Responsibilities
As a Band 6 practitioner, you will play a key role in leading the team and may be responsible for:
- Assessing and triaging referrals to the service, providing informed recommendations.
- Conducting comprehensive psychosocial assessments within the community.
- Performing gatekeeping assessments to facilitate admissions when home treatment is not a viable option.
- Participating in Mental Health Act assessments and developing home treatment plans as necessary.
- Implementing risk management and care plans to ensure effective home treatment for service users, prioritizing least restrictive practices.
- Assisting with medication management and adherence within the community.
- Offering telephone support to service users during crisis situations.
- Providing supervision and guidance to Band 4 colleagues.
A comprehensive induction and a supported transition period will be provided to ensure a smooth adjustment to the role.
