About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based interventions to individuals experiencing common mental health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and referral advice to clients, informed by knowledge of service provision and presenting risk factors.
  • Deliver low-intensity interventions, including psychoeducational courses, computerised CBT, and one-to-one guided self-help.
  • Conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans, and initiate appropriate action where indicated.
  • Develop and maintain close professional therapeutic relationships with service users, using Low Intensity CBT skills to bring about psychological change.
  • Communicate effectively with external agencies, including housing, police, and local authority services.
Requirements
  • Recognised training in Low Intensity CBT Therapies Practice/Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner qualification.
  • Experience of developing, updating, and facilitating CBT-based psycho-educational courses and computerised interventions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Stepped-Care model and evidence-based brief psychological intervention.
  • Able to work under pressure, manage competing demands, and deal effectively with a high volume caseload.
