We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Bath & North East Somerset Council. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities, enabling them to live fulfilling lives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities, promoting their independence and well-being.
- Facilitate group and one-to-one activities, tailored to meet the needs of service users.
- Act as a key worker for service users, building relationships and supporting them to achieve their goals.
- Work collaboratively with the Support Co-ordinator and Day Service Manager to ensure high-quality support plans and risk assessments.
- Communicate effectively with service users, family members, carers, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent and high-quality level of support.
- Previous experience in a similar social care setting, with a working knowledge of adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
- A person-centred approach to supporting adults with learning disabilities.
- Functional Literacy and Numeracy level 2 GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent (including English Language and Mathematics).
- Possession of a Care Certificate qualification or ability and commitment to obtain this in the agreed timeframe.
- Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding principles and policies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- A comprehensive induction and training to equip you with the skills and knowledge to perform the role to a high standard.
- Regular supervision with a Support Co-ordinator.
- A supportive team environment and a rewarding job.
