Job Overview

This is a permanent, staff position with hybrid working arrangements.

The Construction Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing various facets of construction initiatives, encompassing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and the coordination of subcontractors and materials. Collaboration with project engineers, discipline designers, and other stakeholders is essential to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. Regular communication of project updates and making informed decisions regarding changes to the project plan are key responsibilities.

The Coordinator will leverage advanced construction insights to enhance event readiness, aiming to minimize costs, elevate quality, enhance safety and productivity, shorten timelines, and eliminate inefficiencies in construction processes.

Key responsibilities include assisting in the formulation of the Project Management Plan (PMP) and Project Execution Plan (PEP), bid submissions, and construction methodologies. The role also involves providing technical construction support to both clients and the engineering team throughout the identification, planning, execution, and closure phases of TAR/Outage events.

Collaboration with project controls and construction engineers is crucial for developing construction schedules and proactively managing risks associated with timelines. The Coordinator will also guide the conversion of engineering designs into actionable construction work packs and oversee the work of team members, ensuring that construction deliverables meet the required technical standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Wood and Client TAR teams to deliver comprehensive construction work packs that outline clear activity breakdowns and detailed narratives for all construction tasks.
  • Act as the primary construction contact for all activities related to Wood, Client, Vendor, or Operations during the planning, execution, and closure phases.
  • Conduct offshore surveys during the planning phase to identify potential readiness blockers.
  • Develop Maintenance Orders (MO) using SAP to facilitate the completion of necessary support activities.
  • Provide offshore supervision during the execution phase of events.
  • Contribute specialized discipline experience to enhance project work methods and team development.
  • Oversee the constructability review of all work packs, addressing complex issues and communicating major concerns to the construction lead or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ensure timely completion of work packs to meet agreed-upon work scopes and KPIs.
  • Provide advanced technical input to ensure scope readiness and execution.
  • Manage Site Technical Queries (STQ) from initiation to closure.
  • Oversee offshore personnel management and compliance with training requirements.
  • Support the TAR Materials Controller in managing material movements effectively.
  • React to changes in scope as necessary and complete required change management documentation.
  • Ensure installation quality and verification processes are conducted according to standards.
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as required.
  • Continuously assess and improve working practices and systems to enhance team performance.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to less experienced team members.
  • Ensure compliance with quality requirements and prepare relevant quality plans and documents.
Qualifications

  • Typically, a minimum qualification of ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma/apprenticeship) or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Extensive construction experience in the relevant industry sector.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of construction disciplines and associated processes.
  • Ability to identify delivery risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Proficient in interpreting discipline documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Assessments, Hazard and Operability Studies, and Hazard Identification Studies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical specifications.
  • Awareness of business drivers within customer organizations and the impact of innovative designs and cost-effective solutions.
Personal Attributes

  • Safety-first mindset with a commitment to personal and team safety.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate task completion.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address unforeseen challenges.
  • Leadership skills to motivate and coordinate team efforts.
