Job Overview

This is a permanent, staff position with hybrid working arrangements.

The Construction Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing various elements of construction initiatives, encompassing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and the coordination of subcontractors and materials. You will collaborate closely with project engineers, discipline designers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion. Regular communication of project updates to all involved parties is essential, along with making informed decisions regarding any necessary adjustments to the project plan.

Your expertise will contribute to enhancing event readiness by leveraging construction knowledge to minimize costs, elevate quality, improve safety and productivity, and streamline construction timelines while addressing inefficiencies.

The Construction Project Coordinator will assist in the formulation of the Project Management Plan (PMP) and the Project Execution Plan (PEP), bid submissions, construction methodologies, and strategies, while providing technical construction support to both the client and the engineering team throughout the identification, planning, execution, and closure phases of TAR/Outage events.

Collaboration with project controls and construction engineers will be key in developing the construction schedule and proactively managing risks associated with it, as well as contributing to the contracting strategy and bid clarification processes.

As a senior member of the constructability team, you will guide the translation of engineering designs into actionable construction work packs, oversee the work of others, and ensure the delivery of construction outputs meets the required technical standards to facilitate site activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Wood and client TAR teams to deliver comprehensive construction work packs that provide clear activity breakdowns and detailed narratives for all construction tasks.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all construction activities involving Wood, clients, vendors, or operations throughout the event planning, execution, and closure phases.
  • Conduct offshore surveys during the planning phase to identify potential readiness blockers.
  • Develop Maintenance Orders (MO) within SAP to facilitate the completion of support activities.
  • Provide offshore supervision during the execution phase of events.
  • Contribute advanced discipline experience to enhance project work methods and team development.
  • Oversee the constructability review of all work packs, addressing complex issues and communicating major concerns to the construction lead or relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ensure timely completion of work packs to meet agreed-upon obligations and KPIs.
  • Provide advanced technical input to ensure scope readiness and execution.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment are fully certified and managed cost-effectively.
  • Manage Site Technical Queries (STQ) from initiation to closure.
  • Oversee offshore rota and personnel on board (POB) management.
  • Ensure compliance with training requirements as per agreed matrices.
  • Initiate Service and Material Requisitions and manage offshore vendors.
  • Support the TAR Materials Controller in effectively managing material movements.
  • Respond to changes in scope, inform relevant parties, and complete necessary change management documentation.
  • Verify installation quality and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Participate in audits and incident investigations as necessary.
  • Assess the effectiveness of working practices and systems to promote continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced personnel.
  • Assist in the timely execution of projects/contracts/services to ensure contract requirements are met.
  • Prepare quality plans and documents in accordance with project, statutory, and legislative requirements.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Typically, a minimum qualification of ISCED Level 5 (technical diploma/apprenticeship) or an equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Relevant construction experience in the industry sector.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of construction disciplines and associated processes.
  • Ability to identify delivery risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Experience interpreting discipline documentation.
  • Strong understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS), and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technical specifications.
  • Awareness of business drivers within customer organizations and the impact of innovative designs and cost-effective solutions.
