Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join our Integrated Quantum Photonics group at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will work on a research project focused on the investigation of the optical properties of photosynthetic light harvesters on a chip, with the aim of unveiling quantum effects and reverse-engineering them for light harvesting and quantum technology applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on the optical properties of photosynthetic light harvesters on a chip
  • Develop and implement nanofabricated photonic devices to increase light-matter interaction and enhance collection efficiency
  • Collaborate with the research group to combine spectroscopy of biomolecules and quantum optics experiments
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and applications in the field of quantum photonics
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Biology, Biotechnology, or related areas
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing scientific manuscripts and delivering oral presentations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
