The Dermatology division is composed of a welcoming and energetic team, operating in a diverse and fast-paced outpatient environment. We deliver a range of services including general, surgical, and nurse-led clinics.

This role will primarily be situated at our main facility, with potential future opportunities to engage in community-based clinics.

Key Responsibilities

Our Patient Care Support Specialists collaborate with medical and nursing staff to assist in both general and surgical clinics, which encompass procedures such as biopsies and excisions.

Working in tandem with healthcare professionals fosters a supportive learning atmosphere, allowing for the enhancement of various dermatological skills pertinent to further assessments and surgical interventions.

We provide a dermatology-specific competency framework to help you track your progress and development.

Role Responsibilities

1. To efficiently and accurately execute the directives of the Registered Nurse, who is accountable for the provision of care.

2. To provide care and perform tasks as outlined in the Trust's approved core task list for Patient Care Support Specialists.

3. To inform the Registered Nurse of any patient concerns or notable changes in their condition.

4. To respond appropriately to clinical emergencies, ensuring patients receive timely care.

5. To assist in the admission process under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.

6. To deliver high-quality, individualized personal care.

7. To communicate all care provided to patients within the team to a Registered Nurse.

8. To meticulously document all care delivered to patients, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times, with countersignature from a Registered Nurse.
